Lake Pend Oreille

Lake Pend Oreille is Idaho’s largest and deepest lake, reaching 1,158 feet with over 100 miles of shoreline. It was created by Ice Age glaciers and the northern Rocky Mountains; craggy peaks, clear waters, and colorfully pebbled beaches dominate this scenic waterscape. Amid this natural beauty lives a wealth of ospreys, eagles, kokanee salmon, Kamloops rainbow trout, and other wildlife and waterfowl. Scenic viewpoints and parks offer ample nature opportunities. Marinas, public mooring, waterfront restaurants, and downtown Sandpoint are also easily accessible.
